LYSAGHT® Zed & Cee Purlins and Girts
Product Description and Features
LYSAGHT® Purlins and Girts are lightweight structural steel members, designed in accordance with the AS/NZS 4600: 1996 Cold Formed Steel Structures utilising high strength zinc-coated steel.
LYSAGHT® Zed sections may be used over single spans, unlapped and lapped continuous spans in multi-bay buildings. Lapped continuous spans result in considerable capacity increase in the system.
LYSAGHT® Cee sections may be used in single spans, and unlapped continuous spans in multi-bay building and are ideal as eave purlins or where compact sections are required for detailing.

Cladding support system with other applications in portal frames and trusses
Warnings
- LYSAGHT® Cee sections cannot be lapped
- Cee and Zed purlins are normally supplied un-punched. If punching is required punching details should be specified at the time of ordering
- Purlins should be stored off the ground and on a slight slope so that water can drain away
- Direct contact of incompatible material with coating should be avoided. In such applications, suitable paint systems should be obtained from paint manufacturers
- Consider orientation of Zed and Cee purlins in relation to possible build-up of substances such as dust or grain
- Special transport requirements are needed for lengths over 12000mm
- Span tables assume the use of LYSAGHT® bridging and LYSAGHT® recommended bolts

Specification
LYSAGHT® Zed and Cee sections are roll-formed from GALVASPAN® steel complying with AS1397 - 1993. In the grades shown, the numbers prefixed with G indicate minimum yield stress in MPa. The numbers prefixed with Z indicate minimum coating mass in g/m2.
1.0mm BMT: G550, Z350*
1.2mm BMT: G500, Z350*
1.5, 1.9, 2.4 & 3.0 mm BMT: G450, Z350*
* All BMTs in Townsville have Z450 coating.

Holes and Cleats
Zed and Cee sections are normally supplied with holes punched to the Australian Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) gauge lines, except in Victoria where the 150 series sections are punched to the Structural Steel Fabricators Association, Victoria, recommended gauge lines.

Warranty
BlueScope Steel offers a warranty on application, of up to 10 years from the date of installation against perforation by natural degradation, when used within the building envelope.
